Fei Liu showcases UK designers at Beijing gallery

December, 2011 – Jewellery designer Fei Liu invited selected British jewellery designers to showcase at his gallery in the Shin Kong Place department store in Beijing earlier this month.
The initiative was launched in collaboration with British Jewellery & Giftware International (BJGI), the British Jewellers’ Association and UK Trade & Investment.

It aimed to create awareness of the skills of UK jewellery design to consumers and trade buyers, as well as to showcase the UK’s heritage of jewellery manufacturing.
The Birmingham Assay Office supported the event by lending a unique piece of historical silverware, the Warwick Vase, from its collection.

There was fierce competition to secure a place in the Designer Gallery. Fei Liu, along with the BJGI, could only select a limited number of designers to showcase. After much deliberation the designers that were selected and supported by UK Trade & Investment were: William Cheshire, Leyla Abdollahi, Mahtab Hanna, Tomasz Donocik, Dorit Jewellery, Sarah Ho (SHO Fine Jewellery), Chris Perry and Roland Green.
