GIA Brochure available in more languages
CARLSBAD, Calif. – April 18, 2010 – The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has said that its “Four Cs of Diamond Quality” brochure is now available in French, German and Vietnamese.
In addition to these three new translations, GIA continues to offer the Four Cs brochure in 10 other languages, including: English, Spanish, Italian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, traditional (or formal) Chinese, simplified Chinese, Hindi and Gujarati (India).
The GIA Four C’s brochure is designed to help consumers better understand how diamonds are evaluated.
It explains the main factors used to describe diamond quality (cut, colour, clarity and carat weight) and depicts the well-known GIA grading scales for colour, clarity and cut.
GIA created the Four Cs in the 1940s and the GIA International Diamond Grading System™ – the grading standard used by jewellery professionals around the world – in the 1950s.
“GIA strives to protect all diamond purchasers by providing knowledge and a universal standard for evaluating diamond quality,” said Kathryn Kimmel, vice president and Chief Marketing Officer.
“The brochure is one way we help consumers around the world understand the language of diamonds so they are better prepared when making jewellery purchases.”
