Sales Training Preview for Retail Professionals at IJL

LONDON, August 19, 2010 – This year IJL will see a preview of a new platinum sales training programme from Platinum Guild International (PGI) in 2011.

Developed following intensive research into the challenges jewellery retailers face to achieve the best transactional sale, PGI are developing a new training approach.

Platinum sales professionals will have the opportunity to deliver a higher value bridal transaction through harnessing platinum knowledge and redefining their consumer approach.

Platinum Retailer Training has been created to:

*     Revisit the values and qualities of platinum jewellery and use them more effectively.
*    Challenge their own personal attitudes and beliefs to positively project platinum to their customer.
*     Understand how a customer wishes to buy platinum.
*  Refine and enhance sales communications skills through the use of skilful questioning, feedback and the enhancement of consumer desire. To deliver this programme PGI have partnered with Beyond The Box Training.
Chosen for their ability to deliver training programmes with passion and enthusiasm, Beyond the Box training is interactive and stimulating, and delivered in a relaxed environment.

to be held around the UK and Ireland. There will be two pilots in late 2010 befoThe aim is to provide tools which can be immediately deployed to translate product knowledge into sales.
“The way consumers are buying is evolving, and their purchase expectations are increasing” says Ruth Donaldson, PGI’s UK Manager.
“The bridal purchase is emotionally led and for most, a new experience.
UK retailers want to understand more about the values and properties of platinum, and how to combine this with skills to build this knowledge into a consultative approach, increasing the significance of the role they play in the bridal purchase.”

At IJL the launch seminar will provide a taster of course content and the training approach to be deployed.
The seminar will take place on Monday 6th September at 10am in the Windsor Room. Recommended Retailers can then book their representatives into training seminarsre the programme launches in 2011.

More information and course costs will shortly be available at
