Over 60 percent of IJL 2012 already booked
LONDON, January 2012 – A large number of jewellery and watch suppliers have already booked to exhibit at the 2012 edition of International Jewellery London (IJL).
2011 exhibitors are rebooking for all sections of the show. Many are returning to the Fine and Silver sections in particular, as well as the Design Gallery. A number of new companies are also announcing they will be at the trade event for the first time.
“From the feedback we received, we knew the 2011 show went very well – and this is also clear from the high number of rebooked exhibitors for 2012,” said Event Director Syreeta Tranfield.
“Alongside this, we have confirmed participation of new designers and brands, some of which will be launching to the industry for the first time. The 57th edition of IJL will of course be complimented by the popular seminar programme as well as other exciting features and highlights.”
Many exhibitors see IJL as a core part of their business plan.
“’IJL provided an effective platform to launch Vendorafa to UK and Overseas buyers in 2011,” said Advalorem’s Business Development Manager Ben Williams. Advalorem is part of the WB Creative Jewellery Group.
“An important international fair, IJL is now integral to our calendar and plays an important role in our strategy for 2012.”
Brand new quality exhibitors will join the 2012 line-up, such as Hockley Mint, a company which has become one of Europe’s largest manufacturing Jewellers.
KickStarters to return
KickStart, the IJL initiative which acts as a commercial launch pad for promising new designers, has opened for 2012 entries. The news comes as KickStart designers from the 2011 show announce they will be exhibiting on their own stands in 2012.
Supported by the BJA, each year designers are selected to be KickStarters, launching themselves as commercial goldsmiths/designer makers and allowing retailers to source products from the best new design talent of 2011.
MIRPURI, Claire English and Abigail Stradling are just a few of the 2011 KickStarters due to return as fully fledged exhibitors in 2012.
