The Jewellery Show is right on Time for 2012

BIRMINGHAM, England, December 2011 – Building on the phenomenal success of The Jewellery Show 2011, which drew a 10 per cent rise in footfall to the transformed exhibition, the show in 2012 is set to continue its upward trajectory as some of the best brands in the industry line up to join the event.
Show organiser Emap Connect has announced that Swarovski has selected The Jewellery Show 2012 as its first UK exhibition launch platform for several years. Visitors can look forward to seeing a dazzling showcase of the latest Swarovski collections exclusively in Hall 18 Stand L44 – M45.
Swarovski UK & Ireland director Hayley Quinn, says; “As the world leader in precision-cut crystal jewellery, the business has an impressive growth plan in place to expand its portfolio of prestigious partners and stores, and The Jewellery Show provides an excellent platform to invite visitors to explore the sparkling world of Swarovski and its infinite possibilities.”
A total of just under 400 of the best jewellery designers, suppliers and manufacturers in the industry – plus hundreds more brands – will exhibit at The NEC in February, including many that are brand new to The Jewellery Show in 2012, such as: Tresor Paris, London Pearl Company, Dan Jewellers, Charles Green, Saint Maurice, Phantasya. Emap is also proud to welcome Spinning Jewellery, Ken Carr London and Breuning back to the exhibition after a few years’ absence.
One of the most significant new developments for the event as it continues to grow is the launch of Time, a dedicated watch area within The Jewellery Show. Watch makers already signed up to join Time include long-standing exhibitor at The Jewellery Show, Condor Group – owner of the Royal London, Cannibal Watches and Time Co brands – along with a host of other market leading suppliers that have never been seen before at The Jewellery Show.
Revue Thommen, Alessandro Baldieri, Torgoen Swiss, Kennett, Storm Watches, Issey Miyake, Festina, Chic, George, Identify London, Oasis, Playboy and Puma Freefall, Henley, Wingmaster, Ravel, Tom Dexter, Oozoo, Louis Frey, Switch, Danish Designs, Time IT and Icon Watches are some of the great watch brands visitors to Time at The Jewellery Show 2012 can look forward to seeing.
The Jewellery Show has also announced that Pandora will again sponsor the central feature of The Jewelley Show, the fabulous Catwalk Café at the heart of Halls 17 and 18 that keeps the exhibition buzzing for the full duration of the event.
Showcasing the very latest jewellery trends supplied by WGSN, daily catwalk shows at 12.00, 15.00 and 17.00 (16.45 on the Sunday) will inspire buying directional ranges to ensure a great return on investment. In between catwalk shows exclusive seminars given by industry experts will provide invaluable insights into the multi-faceted world of jewellery retail, and you can also look out for a series of exciting panel debates and ‘An Audience with’ interviews.
Seminars will be run in between the catwalk shows at 11.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 16.00, with presentation topics including: Creating Christmas all year round, Celebrity Style, Making the transition from independent to brand, The rising price of metals and how to innovate in times of change, The future of retail and Win-win on the web.
Elsewhere at the event, the Design Quarter will dazzle the trade with a stunning selection of jewellery from 30 British and international designer-makers. Located in Hall 18, exhibitors in this part of the show include:

Returning for a second year will be the Design Quarter Gems area within the Design Quarter, from which sponsor the Houlden Group will select its Houlden Group Designer of Excellence for an award to be presented on Monday February 6 at 4.00pm on the Pandora Catwalk Cafe.
Some of the most exciting and talented designers in the UK will present their latest collection to the trade under the Design Quarter Gems umbrella, including: Rachel Galley, Aradia Nista, Babette Wasserman, Cindy Dennis Mangan, William Cheshire, Leyla Abdollahi and the winner of the inaugural Houlden Group Designer of Excellence Award in 2011, SHO Fine Jewellery.
Also taking place at the Pandora Catwalk Café, The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) – the UK and Ireland’s largest jewellery buying group – will once again present its award for Best Jewellery Collection at The Jewellery Show. This follows on from the successful launch of the award at the 2011 show, which was won by IBB Amsterdam fine jewellery brand Tirisi.
The award will be judged by all CMJ member retailers who visit the show, who will vote based on design quality, innovation, commercial appeal and price. The winner will receive a trophy to display for the duration of the show, as well as the chance to showcase the winning collection at a subsequent CMJ buying meeting.
Visitors to The Jewellery Show will be able to view the beautiful stand and even more beautiful jewellery collections from IBB Amsterdam’s brand Ti Sento, which will sponsor the official exhibition bags and hall entrances.
Important jewellery trade bodies including the British Jewellers’ Association (BJA), which celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2012, British Jewellery Giftware and Finishing Federation (BJGF) and National Association of Goldsmiths (NAG) will also be present at The Jewellery Show.
The Jewellery Show 2012 will run alongside sister event Spring Fair International at The NEC Birmingham from February 5 – 9, ensuring that retail buyers can benefit from maximum cross-over buying opportunities during their visit.
The fine jewellery halls are located next to Fashion Jewellery & Accessories (Halls 19 and 20), for the convenience of buyers with an interest in both higher-end designer jewellery and big selling costume jewellery brands.

Cornerstone is a brand new business founded by Paul Spurgeon in Soweto, South Africa, where local people are being taught to make beautiful jewellery. Paul is currently seeking sponsorship to help fund this business and is launching a number of initiatives to help achieve this goal.
