LONDON, January 30, 2011 – Award-winning designer Sarah Ho has accepted an invitation to craft an exquisite jewel for the Platinum Heritage Collection 2011 of luxury retailer PureJewels.
Sarah, who will feature among six highly skilled designers creating couture pieces for the collection, has embarked on a similar cultural journey as PureJewels, spanning Asia to England.
“She is one of the rising stars of our industry in the UK and we are delighted that she has come onboard with the Platinum Heritage Collection and that she is the very first designer to accept our invitation,” said PureJewels’ brand manager Jayant Raniga.
Sarah Ho said, “This project will be our first platinum collection and working with Jayant and the team will help us grow stronger and also create a beautiful piece that we hope they will be proud of and the press will love.”
She added, “Writers express themselves through words. I express myself through my jewellery.”
Raniga said, “Like PureJewels, Sarah Ho has embarked on a great adventure to build a brand name.”
PureJewels will announce the names of the other five designers who will craft the 2011 Platinum Heritage Collection in the next few weeks, and will launch the pieces at a special event to be held during London Jewellery Week, which will take place from 6-12 June 2011, to showcase the leading talents of the British jewellery industry.
Sarah, founder of SHO, is a qualified goldsmith and gemmologist.
She uses the finest precious and semi-precious gemstones.
At the Italian Jewellery Awards in November 2009, Sarah, who was born in Hong Kong and whose style reflects East meets West, won a special UK category, scooping the award for Best Young UK Jewellery Designer.
In a reference to the fusion of Eastern and Western styles, Raniga said, “In terms of our respective brand fits, we tell a parallel story, and in terms of the Platinum Heritage Collection our stories are beginning to intertwine.”
The Platinum Heritage Collection was brought to life by six jewellery designers in 2010 and reflected the heritage of the PureJewels brand.
Each beautifully crafted piece in platinum and diamonds reflected the cultural journey that the family-run business which became PureJewels had taken from India to England via Kenya.
