‘White Light’ by Shaun Leane in collaboration with Steinmetz created for The Forevermark Precious Collection
‘White Light’ is a one-of-a kind diamond brooch which features 13 D-colour (the highest colour white diamonds can be), internally flawless pear-shaped Forevermark diamonds which are set in delicate icicle styled 18 ct white gold and diamond collets surrounded by a mount of branches and flowing pavé set opalescent enameled leaves.
In all, ‘White Light’ took nearly one year to craft and contains more than 2,477 diamonds, all of which were painstakingly handset.
Invited by Forevermark to be inspired by ‘Precious’, Leane drew on the magical quote “The sun and moon shed one white light” from ‘Love’s First Fever to Her Plague’ by the legendary Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas.
As Leane says, ‘White Light’ encapsulates, “The first snow of winter (which) falls reducing everything to zero, man eclipsed by a quiet cover of pure white.  Snow crystals settled on leaves, an ethereal light so pure and still that it cuts to the essence of what is natural, pure and precious. Only the brilliant purity of the most precious natural diamonds can equal that luminous wonder.”
Every Forevermark diamond is carefully selected for its exceptional qualities and has been nurtured by partners committed to the highest standards at every step of its journey.
Forevermark diamonds have also been responsibly sourced and have benefited the communities from which they come.
Each Forevermark diamond is inscribed with the Forevermark icon and a unique identification number.
Leane worked in collaboration with Forevermark Diamantaire, Steinmetz Diamonds to craft ‘White Light’.
Steinmetz, creators of some of the world’s finest diamonds, have seven decades of expertise and heritage in the diamond industry.
Some of the famous diamonds crafted by Steinmetz include the legendary 203.04 Millennium Star and the Ponahalo Diamonds, the two largest Forevermark diamonds in the world at 102.11 and 70.87 carats respectively.
The brooch was first previewed at an exclusive party in London in April attended by fashion and TV personalities including Kate Moss, Roland Mouret, Erin O’Connor and David Walliams.
It was since displayed at the Flawless Engineering Weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix and will be touring across Japan until the end of July 2009 as part of The Forevermark Precious Collection.
