Van Cleef & Arpels wins Ladies’ Watch Prize

Watch
November, 2010 – The Ladies’ Watch Prize of the  Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève on November 18 was awarded to Van Cleef & Arpels for its watch, Le Pont des Amoureux, from the Poetic ComplicationsTM collection.
The objective of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève is to encourage creativity and introduce new watchmaking talent.

During the evening event, 10 awards were presented, including the Ladies’ Watch Prize, which went to Van Cleef & Arpels for the Le Pont des Amoureux timepiece.
On a dial of contre-jour enamelling, the Le Pont des Amoureux watch presents two lovers, each on a romantic stroll across Paris, which ends in their long-awaited rendez-vous.

A retrograde movement advances the characters, who indicate the passage of time until midnight when, together at last, they celebrate their eternal love with a kiss.

A sublime fruit of Van Cleef & Arpels’ imagination, the Poetic Complication watches represent an original approach to High Watchmaking: the rigorous precision of the complication movements is married to the creative virtuosity of the Maison’s workshops.
This enables Van Cleef & Arpels to add an intimate dimension to these precious watches – time that beats to the pulse of happiness and emotion.
