Gem Diamonds to place Indonesian mine “on care and maintenance”
LONDON, December 15, 2008 – Gem Diamonds said it had decided to place its low-margin Cempaka mine in Indonesia “on care and maintenance” from January 1, 2009, due to the impact of the declining price of the mine’s rough diamonds.
