Patrick Mavros introduces the Pangolin Collection
November 2016 – Patrick Mavros has introduced the Pangolin Collection of jewellery inspired by the African mammal, in sterling silver and 18-carat yellow and rose gold.
The collection includes earrings, stacking rings, necklaces, cuffs and buckles.
In Zimbabwean folklore, it is said that pangolins are the source of alluvial gold, turning the ants they eat into the precious metal.
“Our pangolin story started in 1980, when Patrick senior was entrusted with a small number of rescued pangolins. Our family was instantly enchanted,” Patrick Mavros’s family said.
The pangolin is the most trafficked mammal on earth.
Over the past five years, Patrick Mavros’s family has supported the work of the Tikki Hywood Trust to help protect the pangolin.
“Our hope is to encourage our clients and friends to spread the word of this little known but increasingly threatened species.”
Ten percent of all Pangolin Collection sales will be donated to the Tikki Hywood Trust.
