Independent jewellery retail business, Bradley’s Jewellers York, located on Low Petergate, has updated its popular collection – The York Rose – with new bangle designs ahead of the busy Christmas sales period.

The special edition Yorkshire Rose bangle will be available from December 1, 2022, in a range of precious metals, including solid 9k and 18k white, yellow and rose gold, and a small selection of pieces in sterling silver. The capsule offering has a repeating Yorkshire rose motif that’s set with calibrated, D-colour and VVS1 clarity diamonds around the wrist. Each individual rose has a natural brilliant-cut diamond centre to add sparkle from every angle. For fans of colour, Kay has created the same piece with round brilliant-cut rainbow sapphires.

As an added element of security, the Yorkshire Rose bangle is crafted with a bespoke hinge and a hidden clasp to ensure it is suitable for everyday wear.

Kay Bradley says: “Bangles have always been a popular piece of jewellery for our business, especially in 9k and 18k yellow gold. Recently, we’ve seen a surge in sales for white and rose gold bangles too, as well as bi- and tri-colour options. When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I decided to design and create my own and give it a special Yorkshire twist! All the Yorkshire Rose bangles are British-made in collaboration with UK-based jewellery casting specialists and manufacturers, which is something my customers love.”

An initial and very limited run of just four 18k gold, six 9k gold, and 10 sterling silver bangles will be launched on December 1, 2022. However, Bradley’s Jewellers is accepting pre-orders and expects the offering to sell-out long before they hit the shelves. A waiting list is also available for customers who miss out ahead of Christmas but wish to secure a piece in 2023.

Kay continues: “We have very personal relationships with our customers and that means we can predict what they will love. We’ve mentioned these bangles to our VIPs and local customers with strong ties to the local area. I anticipate that these pieces will sell out fast, thus paving the way for a more permanent addition to The York Rose Collection in the future.”

The York Rose Collection by Kay Bradley debuted in May 2022 and pays homage to the historic city of York. It takes inspiration from the White Rose of York, the Rose Window at York Minster, and the Yorkshire Rose National Trust emblem that highlights listed buildings in and around York. The collection was first unveiled at a charity event at York Minster on May 20, 2022, prior to the Platinum Jubilee of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The York Rose Collection includes single stone solitaire diamond rings, as well as eternity rings, wedding bands, bangles, pendants and earrings, all of which bear the Yorkshire Rose emblem as a decorative feature. The single stone and five-stone rings have a ‘hidden’ Yorkshire Rose side profile with an additional touch of sparkle right at the centre of the bloom. The graduated eternity ring design uses five diamonds to symbolise the four regions of Yorkshire and the City of York itself.

Wedding rings in the new collection are built around a repeating Yorkshire Rose motif, which also appears in the matching pendant, bangle and earrings that are ideally suited to local brides and special gifts.

The York Rose Collection is available in 9k gold, 18k gold, platinum and in limited sterling silver variations. Pieces are set with natural and laboratory-grown diamonds and can also be purchased in Single Mine Origin (SMO) gold.

Diamond sizes in The York Rose Collection range from 0.33 carats to 3 carats for solitaire rings. A signature creation – an extra-large, fully diamond-set Yorkshire Rose pendant – will be displayed in-store and made to order for £4,950. As a final touch, all of Kay’s Yorkshire Rose bangles will incorporate her unique York Rose logo stamped into the precious metal, along with the Platinum Jubilee Hallmark that is being struck on fine jewels made in 2022. Each piece will also be numbered and will have the ‘X’ date letter to reflect the year 2022, which has been full of incredible highs for the business. All these unique hallmarks and features are created by Birmingham Assay Office.

Kay adds: “The popularity of The York Rose Collection has allowed us to respond to customer demand and introduce new pieces that we know our customers will love. The new Yorkshire Rose bangles are an exciting addition, and I expect they will be popular in the run-up to Christmas. I can’t wait to show them to my customers.”
