Sarah Layton Jewellers sparkles as first UK stockist of Arctic Circle Fairtrade gold jewellery
LONDON, May 29, 2015 – Jewellery shop Sarah Layton has added further sparkle to its collections, becoming the first UK stockist of Arctic Circle’s Fairtrade gold and Canadian diamond bridal jewellery collection.
The Lancashire retailer has responded to customers’ growing interest in the provenance of their jewellery by adding Arctic Circle’s traceable engagement and wedding rings to its collections.
Arctic Circle is leading a new era of ethical bridal jewellery with fully-traceable Canadian diamond and Fairtrade gold designs, priced from £600.
Among the elegant engagement rings available at Sarah Layton Jewellers are solitaires in 18ct Fairtrade white gold, set with round brilliant and Ideal Square cut diamonds. The team at Sarah Layton has carefully hand-selected each Canadian diamond, from .30ct to 1ct, providing beautiful engagement rings to suit all types of budget.
Leanne Rogers, director of Sarah Layton Jewellers, said: “Customers are now far more aware of what they’re buying and are increasingly concerned with the ethics of a product – where it has come from, who made it, and were they paid a fair price?
“With Arctic Circle, we can confidently say ‘Yes, these diamonds are fully traceable, not only to the mine, but to the cutters too’, ‘Yes, this gold is Fairtrade’ and ‘Yes, this ring is made in Britain’. Arctic Circle is the first fully traceable Canadian diamond jewellery brand to use Fairtrade gold, giving consumers peace of mind that what they’re buying is actually making a difference to the people in the mining communities.”
Each piece of Arctic Circle jewellery, whether a diamond ring, pendant or pair of studs, is sold with its own ‘birth certificate’, which allows the owner to validate and register each diamond, discovering the specific Canadian mine where the stone was discovered. Each Arctic Circle Canadian diamond is carefully set in contemporary and elegant jewellery designs, made in certified African Fairtrade gold.
Arctic Circle managing director Judith Lockwood said: “Sarah Layton Jewellers is a family business in a super location, with a passion, vision and energy for their customers, their suppliers and their jewellery collections. They completely understand Arctic Circle Diamonds and are now offering a wonderful story and collection to their customers, giving a point of difference and contrast in their area. Sarah Layton Jewellers are comfortable in making inspiring and confident choices – we are a perfect fit.”
Sarah Layton Jewellers celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2015, as a popular family-run jewellery shop in the heart of the Lancashire town of Whalley. The addition of Arctic Circle to its bridal jewellery collections represents its commitment to the future of miners and their families around the world.
