Awards Ceremony:  Monday 17th May 2021 – 5.45pm

The highly anticipated Craftsmanship & Design Awards ceremony will take place in its first virtual iteration on Monday 17th May 2021, opening digital doors to all who wish to attend. This year’s winners will be unveiled for the first time at the virtual ceremony, alongside the recipient of the anticipated 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award.

The annual Awards – organised by the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council for more than 100 years – are traditionally held at the illustrious Goldsmiths’ Hall in London. As we seek to ensure our communities’ wellbeing during Covid-19, they are being transformed into an exciting virtual event, celebrating design and craftsmanship across the jewellery, silversmithing and allied trades.

To maintain the ambiance, the event will be held virtually from Goldsmiths’ Hall, hosted by Rachael Taylor, co-founder of The Jewellery Cut.

The GC&DC is pleased to launch free ticket reservations, allowing anyone in the UK industry and beyond to secure a place to attend the virtual ceremony on May 17th, and celebrate with their friends, colleagues and peers.

Peter Crump, Chairman of GC&DC, says: “While Covid-19 means we cannot have a physical ceremony in 2021, we are thrilled to open doors to our first virtual Awards, and encourage all entrants to reserve their tickets as soon as possible. With even greater digital capacity to host family, friends, colleagues and those who simply love jewellery and silversmithing, this year’s event will mark our biggest celebration to-date, and we look forward to revealing our wonderful winners on May 17th.”

Following the success of taking pieces from the exhibition from the Goldsmiths’ Hall to the Birmingham Assay Office after the Awards evening, GC&DC aims to repeat this event, subject to any restrictions.Craftsmanship & Design Awards ceremony
