Siobhan Maher and Rachel Galley are winners of Houlden Bridal Design of the Year
BIRMINGHAM, February 2015 – The Houlden Group have named Siobhan Maher of Domino and Rachel Galley of Rachel Galley Jewellery Design the winners of the 2015 Bridal Design of the Year awards, topping an impressive shortlist of exquisite wedding and engagement ring designs.
Ruth Faulkner, Editor of Retail Jeweller, and Claire Ridley, Editor of Wedding, revealed the winning designs at a champagne reception held at Jewellery & Watch Birmingham last week, following the final round of judging at the show.
The panel of judges included members of the Houlden Group, with the winning designs to be sold through the Group’s prestigious network of stores.
Maher was awarded the prize for the £1,500 to £3,000 retail price category for her stunning Rosebud design.
The ring draws inspiration from the curling petals of a rosebud, with elegant asymmetric lines and a delicate stone in a demi-flush setting.
The £3,000 to £5,000 category saw Galley take home the award for her beautiful Snowdrop Trilogy set, featuring a striking engagement and wedding ring set.
The combination of delicate pave and highly polished 18ct white gold makes for a feminine and luxurious yet wearable design.
The three separate styles also allow for the stacked combination to be worn as desired.
Due to such a closely fought competition, an award was also presented to Juraj Vyrostek of Brown & Newirth for his Twilight cluster engagement ring with diamond set shoulders.
