ANTWERP, February 1, 2015 – An extraordinary array of diamonds was on show on the opening day of the 2015 Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair (ADTF), including some exquisite natural colour diamonds.
Standout GIA-certified stones included a 50-carat vivid yellow old mine cut diamond; a 100-carat briolette cut orange-brown diamond, and a 1-carat vivid purplish pink gem at the Antwerp Cut booth, likely to appeal to private collectors.
A.A. Rachminov Diamonds had a superb 18-carat South African yellow diamond, amongst a wide selection of exquisite yellow stones.
The sixth edition of the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair, which runs until February 3, is hosted by and held in the trading halls of Antwerp’s three leading bourses: the Antwerp Diamond Bourse, the Antwerp Diamond Club, and the Antwerp Diamond Kring, the world’s only rough diamond trading exchange.
As in previous years, the 2015 ADTF is held under the auspices of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC.)
Hundreds of guests from the international diamond trade community were expected to attend a gala dinner in Antwerp on the evening of Sunday, February 1.
A highlight of ADTF 2015 will be a seminar about colour diamonds to be given by Marijan Dundek, author of the celebrated book Diamonds, at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Monday, February 2.
The ADTF runs until February 3.
