TGJTA promotes Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair 2016 in China
BANGKOK, May 2016 – The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) promoted the Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair 2016 at Jewelry Shanghai with support from the Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China (GAC).
Mr Suttipong Damrongsakul, President of the TGJTA, visited Thai exhibitors at the Thai Pavilion at Jewelry Shanghai 2016, held from May 5 to 9, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center Hall.
Mr Damrongsakul took this opportunity to meet with representatives from the GAC and outlined the plans of the TGJTA to hold the Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair 2016.
Both associations have participated in trade missions, bringing operators in the gems and jewellery business to trade shows in Thailand and China.
“The TGJTA is bringing 20 Thai exhibitors to join Jewelry Shanghai 2016”, Mr Damrongsakul said.
“For more than 20 years, the TGJTA and the GAC have cooperated in many trade activities and bartered exhibition space at numerous gems and jewellery trade shows. Chinese buyers were also the second largest group of buyers at the 57th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair which was organised by the TGJTA.”
“The GAC values the cooperation with the TGJTA,” said Mr Longman Hee, Director of International Cooperation Department, GAC. “Through the TGJTA, our members found trade partners in Thailand. Thai product that is in high demand among Chinese buyers, is coloured gemstones.”
Jewelry Shanghai is one of the largest gems and jewelry fairs in China and is hosted by the Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China or the GAC.
The GAC holds annual international jewellery fairs in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen to provide a platform for the domestic and international jewellers to showcase their latest products and to meet potential distributors and buyers.
Established in 1991,the Gems & Jewelry Trade Association of China is affiliated with the Ministry of Land and Resources of China. It is a governmental and member-based organization and headquartered in Beijing.
The Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair will be held from September 7 to 11, 2016 at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Muang Thong Thani with the aim of supporting and promoting the gems and jewellery industry to increase private sector competitiveness, and increase the trade value of gems and jewellery while pushing Thailand to become the gateway to the gems and jewellery industry in ASEAN.
The Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair 2016 will be open to Thai and international companies as well as the general public. Held over an area of 60,000 sqm, it will consist of 2,000 booths featuring companies from all over the world.
Organisers expect that over 30,000 visitors will participate in the event.
