‘The Sienna Star’, a magnificent 73.11 carat cut-cornered square step-cut Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond, cut, polished and mounted by ‘G’ by Glenn Spiro, sold for $3.4 million at the Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels Auction in New York.

The outstanding diamond was originally purchased as a piece of rough by the London-based jeweller, who cut and polished it resulting in the astonishing 73.11 carat gem.

Due to the rarity and beauty of the stone, the jeweller named it ‘The Sienna Star’ after his daughter Sienna.

The diamond is one of the largest fancy vivid yellows ever to come to auction and with an increasing interest from investors in important gems with intrinsic value, it was always promised to generate huge interest amongst collectors.
