Three European schools collaborate on “rings” show
LONDON, September 17, 2017 – The British Academy of Jewellery is hosting an exhibition of rings designed and crafted by students at three European jewellery schools.
“a ring is a ring is a ring” is the result of a year-long project between London-based British Academy of Jewellery; the Department of Gemstone and Jewellery of the Hochschule Trier, located in Germany’s gemstone capital Idar-Oberstein; and Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School, based in Florence, Italy.
“The aim of the project was to enable students to critically engage with their discipline while reflecting upon the diverse industry they are embarking into,” said Sofie Boons, Head of Academy at BAJ.
The exhibition runs from September 16, 2017 to October 6, 2017.
