The NAJ JET Business Network (JBN) has announced the first group of speakers scheduled to appear at the upcoming Retail Jewellers’ Congress, which will take place at the NAJ Summit 2023 on Monday, June 26.
The Retail Jewellers’ Congress has always been popular with the members as it’s an opportunity to escape the shop, meet members from other groups and to hear from invited experts who contribute their unique perspective on a variety of topics, from a variety of backgrounds. This year the regular attendees identified recruiting and retaining people and customers as the chosen topic of focus.
Consumer marketing expert, Heather Horton, will deliver her presentation on attracting, recruiting and retaining customers. Heather is CEO of Ecrubox Digital, a digital marketing agency. The costs per customer acquisition are increasing and it is more expensive than ever to gain new customers than keep existing ones. Heather will delve into the importance of retaining customers and building loyalty in a digital age.
Philip Rush, Founder and Chief Economist of Heteronomics, provider of macroeconomic research services, will deliver a State of the Nation presentation, exploring the UK’s economic outlook, including activity, inflation, and monetary policy.
JBN member, Mark Sandum, will share his retail story with attendees, revealing the highs and lows of owning a high street jewellers, and outlining the processes implemented towards selling his business in April 2023.
Finally, Director of the West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre, Vanessa Eyles, will present a talk on Retail Cyber Resilience. In a world where many business transactions are online, how can you, your business and staff stay safe? This session will cover the nature of the threats businesses are facing, the basic steps you can take yourself and where you can get help from a Police-led business.

The NAJ Summit returns this summer, offering a refined schedule and a new venue to benefit attendees.
