The Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030 launched the Human Rights Navigator Tool at BJOP, France’s jewellery and gemstones trade association, in Paris on December 13, 2023, providing guidance to help companies across the sector develop their approach to human rights issues.

The Human Rights Navigator provides practical guidance, tools and insights to help beginning and advanced companies strengthen their human rights due diligence, aligned with the evolving regulatory framework, Iris Van Der Veken, WJI 2030 Executive Director, said.

Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030 is guided by the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the 17 SDGs, and welcomes companies and key stakeholders to join its efforts to accelerate positive impact in three areas: building climate resilience, preserving resources, and fostering inclusiveness.

The Human Rights Navigator Tool was developed in partnership with BSR, a sustainable business network and consultancy, including its vice-president Elisa Niemtzow; and Dr. Nawal Ait-Hocine, an expert in due diligence, and CEO of consultancy A Positive Impact.
