British Silver Week to showcase UK silversmithing talent

MUNICH, Germany, February 27, 2011 – British Silver Week 2011 will showcase the best of silversmithing talent in the UK, including the works of Brett Payne, Rebecca Joselyn and Malcolm Appleby, its Managing Director Gordon Hamme said.
“We estimate that over the past three years 750,000 pounds of UK silversmiths`work was sold at the British Silver Week exhibitions, so we are confident about this year,” Hamme told Jewellery Outlook at the UK silversmiths’ stand at inhorgenta.
“We’re at inhorgenta to create new contacts and to promote exhibitions across the world.”
Now in its fourth year, British Silver Week will stage its UK launch at the Pangolin London fine art gallery in May which sets the scene for the selling exhibitions across the UK starting on 6 June, continuing in Edinburgh July 2-31.
The British Silver Week Festival of Silver launches at Pangolin London fine art gallery in London’s King’s Cross from 9-13 May 2011 with five days of themed exhibitions featuring more than 100 of Britain’s finest contemporary silversmiths.
