International visitor turnout was up 17 percent year-on-year at the March 16-19 Istanbul Jewelry Show, the largest ever edition, which expanded to seven halls from six at the previous event in October, organisers said.
The show, staged twice a year, offers a vast array of goods, predominantly gold and silver jewellery, as well as gemstone-set and pearl jewellery, machinery and accessories.
Turkey is a leading manufacturer and exporter of gold jewellery.
An “International Buyer Delegation Programme” was organised by the Jewellery Exporters’ Association of Türkiye and Informa Markets in order to raise exports. Over 1,000 individuals from major firms and brands participated in the show as buyers within the programme.
The event is prioritising attracting visitors from regions such as the Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe, said Murad Kosker, a board member of the Jewellery Exporters’ Association (JTR).
