The mood was upbeat, with exhibitors saying privately they were pleased to sell their gold jewellery inventory at premium prices.

Gold prices have hit a series of record peaks this year, most recently underpinned by fears of a widening conflict in the Middle East.

Turnout was strong on day one of the show following the inauguration presided over by Burak Yakin, President of Turkey’s Jewellery Exporters’ Association.
