Brazil’s Feninjer embraces creativity, innovation
SAO PAULO, Brazil, August 13, 2011 – Feninjer, the largest jewellery trade fair in Latin America, which took place from August 3-6, embraced Brazilian talent, creativity and innovation and celebrated the South American country’s array of gemstones.
The Sao Paulo event featured 160 exhibitors from various parts of Brazil, as well as Spain, Portugal and Italy, and 4,000 visitors, organisers said.
Feninjer showcased a variety of jewels and watches from all over the world, as well as a new design space.
A wide range of colourful gemstone jewels were inspired by Brazilian flora and fauna, geometric shapes, and architecture.
Designers used unusual materials such as wood and textiles, underscoring their commitment to sustainability.
A standout collection was Celebration, created by Belo Horizonte company Vancox, which created earrings in colourful pave combinations to celebrate women like Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor, who made their jewels an extension of themselves.
