Ramat Gan, Israel, July 20, 2011 –  In the wake of the terror attacks on the diamond center in Mumbai, the Israeli Diamond Industry is reaffirming its commitment to furthering ties with their Indian counterparts.

An Israel Diamond Pavilion, organized by the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI), will include 8 Israeli companies.
This is the fourth time that IDI has organized a national pavilion at the show and interest is growing every year.
IDI sources said that since exhibition space was limited there is a long waiting list of Israeli companies that would like to join the show.
The companies exhibiting are:  AG Diamond Direct Ltd., Hausman Diamond Manufacturers, Julius Klein – Eliaz Diamonds, Niru Diamonds, Schachter & Namdar Asia and Shlomo Bichachi Diamonds Ltd. and Sorum Diamonds.

IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said that Israel and India have a great deal in common – in terms of business outlook, culture and values.
“Both countries are ancient civilizations and young democracies, and both have had to deal with the horror of terror. We are also two of the world’s leading diamond centers. Israel and India can complement each other in both manufacturing and trading and we are dedicated to intensifying our business ties,” he said.
IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar said that IDI is planning to open a representative office in the Bharat Diamond Exchange during the year.
“The Israeli Diamond Industry is very interested in the Indian market and IDI supports the expansion of ties between the two diamond industries. We believe the new office will be an important factor in promoting these business ties,” said Avidar.
As in previous years IDI will have an image booth within the pavilion at 1B033, which will provide buyers with information about the Israeli Diamond Industry and the advantages of doing business with Israel, and will register industry members for the Israeli Diamond Industry Portal site and on-line data base.
