Buyers rose 4.5 percent at Vicenza Fair

VICENZA, Italy, September 21, 2010 – The number of buyers attending the Choice edition of the Vicenza gold jewellery fair this month was 4.5 percent above a year ago.

“The growing internationalisation of the September edition was confirmed by the increase in foreign participation, with a 7 percent increase in nationalities over 2009. Buyers arrived from 107 countries,” the Fair said.
“This September edition of VICENZAORO once again consolidates its role as a meeting place for the sector, preparing for the acceleration of sales during the Christmas period, the high-point for the gold and jewellery business worldwide.”
No figures were available for turnover, which should be calculated in the coming weeks. The Choice edition of the Fair took place from September 10-14, 2010.
The Fair said that 1,370 exhibitors, including 996 from Italy and 374 from other countries, took part in the event.
“The new trends in jewellery proposed by VICENZAORO Choice: black and white, animalier, urban chic, and colour, quickly became the must-haves for the 2010/2011 Autumn-Winter season,” a statement said.
