Vicenza Fair signs deal with Dubai World Trade Centre

VICENZA, May 20, 2012 – Vicenza Fair signed a cooperation agreement on May 17 with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), under which the Fair will coordinate European brands taking part in Dubai International Jewellery Week later this year.
”Vicenza Fair has thus become a partner of the Dubai World Trade Centre for Europe and Italy and will act as representative for jewellery, gold, watch-making and connected technology companies in the organisation of their participation at the ultra-modern exhibition centre in Dubai,” the Fair said in a statement.
The official signing of the partnership took place at the end of the first day of the CIBJO World Congress, which gathered jewellery and diamond industry leaders in Vicenza.
“A common factor in the founding of this collaboration between Fiera di Vicenza and DWTC is the considerable know-how that both have in the luxury industry, particularly in regard to high range gold and jewellery,” the statement said.
The Dubai International Jewellery Week, aimed at both traders and retailers, will be held from 21st to 24th November.
With 300 exhibitors from 20 countries, the event is playing a more important role in the luxury and high end jewellery market in the Middle East.
At the next edition of the Dubai International Jewellery Week, Vicenza Fair will be the official coordinator for participating Italian and European brands and companies and will act as the exclusive representative for all EU markets.
Other agreements are being negotiated with strategic markets such as India, Hong Kong and Brazil.
Vicenza Fair is also strengthening its presence in the United States, still one of the most important markets for Italian jewellery, by developing partnerships like the one with the JCK Show in Las Vegas with its new VICENZAORO Italian Club format.
“The partnership between Fiera di Vicenza and DWTC marks a further significant step of our networking strategy on a global level. I do believe that the cooperation with DWTC will create new business opportunities for the industry,” said the Fair’s Executive Director, Corrado Facco.
“This strategic alliance will increase visibility and will promote commercial and business opportunities, not only for producers, but also for potential buyers of gold and jewellery in two of the most active luxury markets in the world: Europe and the Middle East.”
