VICENZAORO outlines jewellery initiatives for 2013
VICENZA, Italy, January 21, 2013 – VICENZAORO has outlined a packed programme of industry initiatives and projects for 2013, including plans for the luxury About J selling event in Venice in September, and a revamped website for the trade fair.
As the VICENZAORO Winter trade fair kicked off, Roberto Ditri, President of the Vicenza Fair, announced plans to hold the About J trade event, which has featured annually in recent years and brings top brands face-to-face with an elite group of international jewellery buyers.
About J will take place in Venice from 4-6 September, 2013, and will proceed into the autumn edition of VICENZAORO . About J was staged in the chic ski resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo in northern Italy last year and reported strong orders.
Ditri also announced plans for a new Boutique Show format at VICENZAORO in 2014. He said details would be made public later this week.
Trendvision, a unit of VICENZAORO which forecasts global jewellery design trends, will be showcased at the Hong Kong jewellery fair in March, 2013, Ditri said.
VICENZAORO will host the second edition of the Andrea Palladio International Jewellery Awards later in the year, highlighting the talents of some of the world’s most innovative jewellery designers.
Vicenza will host a new jewellery museum (Il Museo del Gioiello), possibly from September, 2013, which Ditri said would be a dynamic exhibition of jewellery creations.
“The museum aims to be a place to remember not only the beauty of these marvellous items, but also the passion, skill and work of those who produced them,” Ditri said.
VICENZAORO has launched a new website www.vicenzaoro.com which will upgrade online coverage of the trade events.
