Wendy Yue rings reveal Nature in glowing colours

HONG KONG, September 23, 2012 – The latest rings from Wendy Yue, showcased at the Hong Kong jewellery fair, reveal wildlife in an abundance of bright and unusual colours.
“Flamingo Heaven” is a statement ring depicting flamingos in a blaze of colour not normally associated with the birds.
The ring has a large green turquoise centre stone, laced with brown and black diamonds and yellow sapphires, and 18-karat white gold with black rhodium.Wendy Yue rings reveal Nature in glowing colours

The colours are distinct from the usual colours of flamingos, pink and white.
“I am fascinated by colours. I like to represent animals not necessarily in their original colours,” Wendy Yue told Jewellery Outlook at her booth at the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair, which runs until September 25.
Another standout ring came from the “Bondage Bug” collection, presenting a large insect with an emerald body and tanzanite head, with blue and pink sapphires and black diamonds, and 18-karat white gold with black rhodium.

“A lot of women are afraid of bugs. I want to transform bugs into something that women love,” Wendy Yue said.
