Wide selection of gems, jewellery on offer at Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair
BANGKOK, June 2017 – The inaugural Thailand Gems & Jewellery Fair, which opened on June 15, showcased a wide variety of gemstones, pearls, jewellery, and tools using state-of-the-art technology.
Robots were a prominent theme of the four-day show, highlighting the cutting-edge technology used by the Thai gemstones and jewellery sector, which is a leading contributor to Thailand’s export revenues.
A steady flow of transactions was under way at booths presenting coloured gemstones, manufactured jewellery, pearls and rough stones, at the Impact Challenger 2 congress venue in Bangkok.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister, Tanasak Patimapragon, underlining the high-priority support of the government to the show, which was organised by the Thailand Gems & Jewelry Traders’ Association.
The Thai government provides strong incentives, including tax breaks, for manufacture of gemstones and jewellery.
Retailers, operating both offline and online, were attracted to the Thailand Gems & Jewellery Fair, due to the highly competitive prices of the supplies on offer, including diamonds, gems, rough stones and silver jewellery.
The event runs until June 18.
